Interscholastic Athletics
Interscholastic athletics are recognized as an integral part of the school’s co-curricular program. The purpose of interscholastic athletics shall be to promote good sportsmanship, fair play, development of leadership, and good school citizenship.
Financial support of interscholastic athletics may be partially funded by the District.
The Elkhorn Public School District is a member of the Nebraska School Activities Association, which is a voluntary organization of public and private schools of Nebraska organized for the purpose of promoting and regulating the competition between schools in what is generally known as extracurricular activities. All students participating in extracurricular activities shall follow the rules provided by the Nebraska School Activities Association and the rules of Elkhorn Public Schools. The Superintendent or designee shall, as required by law, designate each school-sponsored interscholastic athletic team or sport as either: (1) boys; (2) girls; or (3) mixed.
