On Monday, September 11, 2023, the EPS Board of Education voted to move forward with a special mail-in election bond issue totaling $122.9 million and resulting in no tax increase to EPS property owners.  As presented to the Board of Education, the identified project list will improve the safety and security of our schools, update facilities in need of maintenance, and serve the continued growth of our student enrollment long into the future.  Based on those identified needs throughout our growing district, the project list includes the construction of two elementary schools, additions to a middle school and a high school, updates to various EPS facilities, athletics fields, and system networks, and safety improvements including the construction of classroom doors for elementary schools with open-concept designs.

This bond election will be conducted by mail; therefore, no polling places will be open for voting. Registered voters within the Elkhorn Public School District will receive their ballots at their home address by mail from the Douglas County Election Commission beginning Monday, October 23, 2023. Ballots are mailed in gold-colored envelopes measuring approximately 6 inches by 9 inches, and a return envelope is included.  A voter must sign the back of his/her return envelope prior to submitting it for the ballot to be counted.  All ballots must be received at the election office or returned to a ballot drop box no later than Tuesday, November 14, 2023, by 5:00 p.m.  Drop boxes can be found at the below-listed locations and are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week; no postage is needed on ballots placed in a drop box.
