Elkhorn Public Schools will host a District Spelling Bee on Thursday, November 17, 2022, at 3:30 p.m. at the EPS Teacher Training Conference Center. Students from across the District will participate, with one student from every elementary building and two students from each middle school participating. District bee participants, as shown below, were selected based on their placement in their individual building competitions.

The 1st place winner of the EPS District Spelling Bee will be eligible to participate in the Omaha Sports Commission Spelling Bee scheduled for March 18, 2023.

Recently, the Pack Leaders community service group at EGMS partnered with the Omaha Featherweight Club (OFWC) to sew pillowcases. Through their combined efforts, the groups were able to make 35 pillowcases to donate to the Child Saving Institute! Special thank you to the members of the OFWC for sharing their knowledge of their vintage sewing machines and their passion for serving others with our students.

According to a recently released AP Scholar Report, a record number of Elkhorn Public Schools students were recognized as 2021-2022 AP Scholars with various distinctions, with 454 students included in the report. For the 2021-2022 school year, EPS proudly recognizes the following:
- – 214 students earning the designation of AP Scholar for earning a score of 3 on three or more AP exams
- – 101 students earning the designation of AP Scholar with Honors for earning an average of 3.25on all AP exams taken and having a score of at least 3 on four AP exams
- – 139 students earning the destination of AP Scholar with Distinction for scoring an average of at least 3.5 on all AP exams taken and having a score of at least 3 on five AP exams
Over the course of the previous five academic years, EPS has nearly doubled the number of students earning AP Scholar designations as seen in the chart below.
EPS proudly congratulates all students who have achieved this academic success, and thanks them for their dedication and commitment to developing the knowledge and skills necessary to be lifelong learners.

Parent/Teacher Conferences for all EPS buildings will be held on Tuesday, September 27 and Wednesday, September 28. Time frames by grade level are listed below. For building-specific information, please refer to your building principal’s most recent newsletter.
Grades K-5: 3:00 -7:00 PM
Grades 6-8: 4:30 – 8:30 PM
Grades 9-12: 5:00 – 9:00 PM
Additionally, there will be no school for EPS students on Thursday, September 29 and Friday, September 30, 2022.

Marking over 35 consecutive years of growth, Elkhorn Public Schools proudly opened its doors to over 11,000 K-12 students on Tuesday, August 16, 2022. Excitement for the 2022-2023 school year couldn’t be contained as students and staff alike arrived ready to make the most of a school year sure to be marked by excellence in all facets of student learning. In continuation of this long-standing standard of excellence, EPS looks forward to another year of continued growth, outstanding achievement, and community partnership, and remains dedicated to preparing students for the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead while shaping them into responsible, lifelong learners.
