Being in kindergarten brings lots of fun memories and exciting activities for students, but one of the best experiences comes at the beginning of kindergarten studies of animals and their environments.  Before students dig into the lesson plans and textbooks, they have the opportunity to see many live animals up close during a presentation from the local group Wild Life Encounters.

“The Wild Life Encounters are always a highlight for our kindergarten students”, says Dani Podany, a Spring Ridge kindergarten teacher.   During the presentation, students see animals from across the spectrum, from snakes to hedgehogs to kangaroos, and even a baby alligator!  Students have the opportunity to hear from experts on the lifestyles and environments that these animals live in, and, if they’re brave enough, can even touch and hold them!
