Hillrise Elementary is proud to welcome Melissa Mehlmann as the incoming principal for the 2021-2022 school year. Mehlmann, a 20 year veteran educator with Elkhorn Public Schools, has served as an elementary teacher at Westridge, Fire Ridge, and Hillrise elementaries teaching 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades. During her time in EPS, Mehlmann also served as an Instructional Facilitator and UNO CADRE Associate allowing her to grow her leadership skills while mentoring young teachers.
Mehlmann is excited about this new opportunity to be a guiding light for Hillrise students and staff, stating “I am honored to lead a school with such persevering students, dedicated staff members, and supportive school community. I feel fortunate to have been a teacher at Hillrise for the past four years, and look forward to continuing the tradition of educational excellence.”
