The Lincoln Memorial is a nation monument that honors President Abraham Lincoln. The Lincoln Memorial is in Washington, D.C. and consists of a large memorial building with a statue of President Abraham Lincoln sitting in the middle.

 

The site for the Lincoln Memorial was prepared on February 12, 1914 (the 105th anniversary of Abraham Lincoln's birth). It was dedicated during a ceremony on Memorial Day, May 30, 1922 in front of 50,000 people.

 

Since then, many famous events have occurred at the Lincoln Memorial. The most famous was probably the speech by Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., on August 28, 1963 when he gave the speech "I Have a Dream."

If you look really close, you can even see the statue of Lincoln sitting
