The Purpose of Fundraisers

 

Without the support of the fundraisers that the PTO organizes, Westridge would have to do without many of the items that enhance your child’s learning experience.   

 

These are just a few of the ways that we have supported the school:

Books – Books are purchased for the bookroom, which supports group reading at all class levels.  

SmartBoard – This is used in the media room for presentations.

Classroom support – Throughout the year, we help pay for teachers’ classroom supplies.

Speaker system – This system is helpful for school assemblies and other events as it can be used in any room and has a cordless microphone. 

Die Cuts – These get a lot of use in the classroom environment.

Landscaping – Improvements made around the school to enhance its appearance.

Playground equipment – Soccer goals and nets, benches, balls, etc.

School parties – Food and beverages are purchased for the three school parties.

Outdoor Education – We support the 5^th grade class’ stay offsite to learn about teamwork.

New Playground Equipment for our Elementary School

Westridge Wildcat Walk

 

In an effort to promote more physical activity among Westridge students and to raise money to replace original playground equipment on our Westridge Elementary playground, we are excited to announce the main fundraiser for the school year : Westridge Wildcat Walk!

 

On September 21, 2007, ALL Wildcats of the same grade level will be given the opportunity to join in a fun and energetic walk during school hours, where students will walk around the baseball field area in front of the school.  Prior to the event, students can choose to help raise funds for our school.  Westridge will receive 100% of the profit!  The success of our walk will be celebrated with refreshing snow cones after each grade completes their walking session.

 

We chose this type of fundraiser not only because it will help improve our school, but also because it will help teach our children different ways to incorporate physical fitness into everyday life.

 

Please help us promote more physical activity in our children through your enthusiasm and support for our Westridge Wildcat Walk.
