Westridge PTO CommitteesCommittees play a vital role in our organization. It takes many talented people working together to make it all happen! If you’d like more information or if you have questions, please let us know. Please plan to be involved, as we’d welcome the opportunity to work with you. Note: You can be involved in a committee without having to go to every PTO meeting. We’d love for you to be involved!
Here’s an overview of the 2006-2007 committees: Box Tops for Education – Promotes and collects the box tops brought in to school. Organizes competitions between classes. Box tops are sent in and the profits are used to purchase various items for the school. Committee Members: Michelle Johnson, Julie McKenzie
Carnival – Involves developing a theme, decorations, games, donations, clean up and a multitude of tasks that go into organizing this fun event. Committee Members: Jill Uleman, Kathy Burney, Michelle Johnson, Barb Kruid, Mary Patterson, Kara Petersen, Bobbi Wegner
Directory – Collects information to publish a school directory at the beginning of the school year that contains Calendar of Events, teachers’ names, the PTO Officers and Committee Chairpersons. (volunteered information only) Committee Ginger Avery
Fundraising – Plans and organizes the three major fundraisers each year including the collection of orders and counting the money. Committee Member(s): Jill Uleman, Bobbi Wegner
Hospitality – Organizes Parent/Teacher Conference snacks and meals for the teachers, orders refreshments for Open House, assists in Teacher Appreciation Week. Committee Member(s): JoAnn Stute, Rachele Epp
Party Planning – Arranges for the refreshments for the three all school parties. Refreshments are purchased, sorted, and delivered to the classrooms. Committee Member(s): Sally Hoss
Social Committee – Plans events for families to enjoy together such as skating parties, activity nights, Pastries for Parents, etc. Committee Member(s): Bobbi Wegner, Mary Patterson
Spirit Shop – Promotes and sells a variety of Westridge items such as pencils, pens, T-shirts, sweatshirts, book covers, etc. Looks for new products and helps staff the Spirit Shop on Spirit Day. Committee Member(s): Kati Christensen
Volunteer Coordination – Calls volunteers to assist throughout the year for a variety of activities that take place at school: Carnival, Health Screenings, Book Fair, Parent-Teacher meals, etc. Committee Member(s): Jenny Zymola
Yearbook Committee – Compiles a photographic journal of the school year. Organizes photos of students in activities throughout the year, works on layout design, and coordinates the publishing and distribution of the yearbook. Committee Member(s): Tammy Bowes, Stephany Albritton
