Nebraska L.E.A.R.N.S. Standards

 

4th Social Studies Standards

4.1 Students will compare communities and describe how United States and Nebraska communities changed physically and demographically over time

4.6  Students will identify significant individuals historical events, and symbols into heir community and in Nebraska and explain their importance.

4.3 Students will describe social and economic development of Nebraska in the 20th century

 

4th Grade Reading / Writing Standards

4.1.4 By the end of fourth grade, students will identify the resources appropriate for a specific purpose, and use the resource to locate information

4.1.7 By the end of the fourth grade, students will identify and apply knowledge of the text structure and organizational elements to analyze nonfiction or information text

4.2.2  By the end of the fourth grade students will write paragraphs/reports with focus, related ideas and supporting details

4.2.4  By the end of the fourth grade, students will demonstrate the use of self-generated questions, note-taking, and summarizing while learning

4.3.2 By the end of the fourth grade, students will deliver organized oral presentations using complete sentences, clear enunciation, adequate volume and eye contact

1.The student who is information literate accesses information efficiently and effectively

7.  The student who contributes positively to the learning community ant to society is information literate and recognizes the importance of information to a democratic society.

 

 

Technology Standards  (N.E.T.S.)

2.1  Students understand the ethical. Cultural, and societal issues related to technology

4.1 Students use telecommunications to collaborate, publish and interact with peers, experts and other audiences

4.2 Students use a variety of media and formats to communicate information and ideas effectively to multiple audiences

5.1 Students use technology to locate, evaluate, and collect information from a variety of sources

5.2 Students use technology tools to process data and report results
