Hi, I am Robyn Dallegge and I am the library media specialist for Manchester Elementary School. Manchester Elementary opened in August 2006 and is the newest elementary school in the Elkhorn Public Schools district. I am finishing my 8th year with the Elkhorn district. I grew up on a dairy farm with three younger sisters and one younger brother in Omaha. Today, you would never know that less than 25 years ago a dairy farm stood on that spot. When I was in 8th grade my family moved north of Bennington to a farm in rural Washington County. My family continued to raise dairy cows for many years. I received my Bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Wayne State College in 1995. I returned to school in 1998 to take classes towards an endorsement in library science. I received my Library Media Endorsement in 2000. I am currently taking classes towards a Master's degree through Walden University. When I am not in school, I love spending time with my family. I also enjoy scrapbooking, cooking, and reading. My favorite author is Mary Higgins Clark. She writes mystery novels. My favorite children’s books are the Little House on the Prairie series by Laura Ingalls Wilder and the Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling. I am currently reading one of this year's Golden Sower nominees, Becoming Naomi Leon. My husband, Travis, and I have two daughters. Abby is 6 years old and is finishing kindergarten this spring. She rode her first roller coaster last summer and loved every minute of it. Sydney is 2 1/2 years old and is a typical toddler. She is very independent and at times can be quite stubborn. I look forward to getting to know the families of Manchester Elementary School. Working together we can help our students succeed. |
