ELKHORN PUBLIC SCHOOLS ATTENDANCE BOUNDARIES EFFECTIVE JANUARY 1, 2006

The Elkhorn Board of Education adopted the following attendance boundaries at the November 14, 2005 Board meeting. Questions about attendance boundaries should be addressed to the Building Principals or Superintendent R. Breed (289-2579).

Middle School Students

All middle school students who reside south of West Dodge Road will be assigned to Elkhorn Ridge Middle School. All middle school students who reside north of West Dodge Road will be assigned to Elkhorn Middle School. No other exceptions will be allowed. This will be reviewed annually.

Elementary School Students

1) Effective January 1, 2006 - The elementary students will be assigned according to the following boundaries/guidelines:

A) Hillrise - All elementary students who live north of West Dodge Road and east of Highway 31-204th Street and west of 180th Street will be assigned to Hillrise.

B) Manchester - All elementary students who live north of West Dodge Road and east of 180th Street, will be assigned to Manchester.

C) Westridge - All elementary students who live north of West Dodge Road and west of Highway 31-204th Street will be assigned to Westridge.

Note: Elementary students presently in Antler Country, Arbor Ridge, rural north, or Ramblewood who presently attend Hillrise may continue to attend at Hillrise as capacity allows.

C) Skyline - All elementary students south of West Dodge Road and west of 204th Street will be assigned to Skyline. In addition, all elementary students living south of West Center Road, north of “F” Street, and west of 192nd Street (the White Hawk and Copperfields subdivisions), will be assigned to Skyline.

D) Spring Ridge - Elementary students south of West Dodge Road and east of 192nd Street will be assigned to Spring Ridge Elementary School with the following exceptions: a) all students from The Grove or any other subdivision north of Pacific, south of Dodge and west of 180th Street, will be assigned to Fire Ridge Elementary School, b) all students from any new subdivision north of Pacific Street, west of 168th and east of 180th (Village Cove), c) students in the western most sections of The Ridges (Fairway Ridge and Whispering Hollow) will be assigned to Fire Ridge school year, and d) all students from subdivisions south of West Center Road from 168th to 192nd Street (Legacy and Bay Ridge) will be assigned to Fire Ridge.

E) Fire Ridge - The attendance area for Fire Ridge includes all areas south of Dodge, east of 204th, west of 192nd, north of West Center and the following: a) all students from The Grove or any other subdivision north of Pacific, south of Dodge and west of 180th Street, will be assigned to Fire Ridge Elementary School effective, b) all students from any new subdivision north of Pacific west of 168th and east of 180th (Village Cove), c) students in the western most sections of The Ridges (Fairway Ridge and Whispering Hollow) will be assigned to Fire Ridge, and d) all students from subdivisions south of West Center Road from 168th to 192nd Street (Legacy and new Lanoha Subdivision) will be assigned to Fire Ridge.

Enrollment Option and Temporary Non-Resident Admission - The district remains closed to enrollment option due to capacity reasons for the 2006-07 school year. Spring Ridge Elementary School would be closed to new enrollment option (automatic waivers) and Temporary Non-Resident Admission requests for 2006-07 would be restricted on a space available basis.

Boundary Exceptions - Elkhorn provides and supports neighborhood schools. Elementary boundary exceptions may be granted on an annual basis and only for extraordinary educational reasons. Consideration will be given to Hillrise fourth grade students to remain at Hillrise for 2006-07. Other requests will be allowed only upon written and rational requests and if the average class sizes for the receiving building and grade level are less than the district average for that grade level as of August 15, 2006.
