Guidance Services
The Elkhorn Public School District has school counselors available at each building. District counselors are available to assist families by providing information regarding local access to mental health and community counseling services. The Elkhorn Public School District contracts with Arbor Family Counseling Associates to provide limited use services upon request from students and families.

Elkhorn Public Schools has a contract* with Arbor Family Counseling for a Student Assistance Program. The following information is a brief outline of services offered:
• Students may receive two initial consults at no charge.
• Payment for any subsequent services is then negotiated directly between families and Arbor.
(*There are many counseling services in the Metro area available; however, Arbor Family is the only one contracted with Elkhorn Public Schools to provide initial consultations at no charge.)
Student Assistance is a Powerful Solution
Elkhorn Schools have identified the student assistance services by Arbor Family Counseling as a welcomed solution when faced with a variety of issues. Parents are invited to contact Arbor Family Counseling when concerned about their children or the well-being of their family. Concerns such as school behavior problems, stress, depression, bullying, self-esteem, drug and alcohol concerns, ADD, ADHD, grief, family conflict, communication problems, eating disorders and self-destructive behaviors are only a sampling of what can affect kids, teens and their families.
24-hour availability: Arbor Family counselors are available 24 hours a day to set an appointment or inquire about a referral to a variety of professional services; including legal, financial, child care or medical.
Free Phone Consultations—Arbor Family Counselors are always available to assist you, phone consultations can be used for general inquiries or in times of crisis.
Free Assessments and Short-Term Counseling—You are invited to complete a free face-to-face assessment. Arbor Family counselors are able to help you address any personal issue. These assessments can be scheduled at your convenience within 48 hours if necessary.
