Regulated Devices – Beepers, Cell Phones, Laser Pointers, Etc.

Any prohibited items or devices brought to school or used in school during instructional time or at school events may be confiscated by district staff. Prohibited items will be turned over to the student’s parents or guardian on request unless the object seized is dangerous, contrary to law, or has been turned over to legal authorities. Students violating this policy shall be subject to the district’s disciplinary rules.

Prohibited devices shall include any item which is sufficiently annoying, offensive, unpleasant, or obnoxious that it substantially interferes with or materially disrupts the educational process. Students shall be advised annually through the Student Handbook of items that are prohibited on school grounds, during instructional time, or at school activities.
