ACT results from the class of 2016 show Elkhorn students above state and national averages. At EHS, the average score was 23.6 and at ESHS a 25.6, compared to the state average of 21.4 and the national average of 20.8.

Congratulations to the Elkhorn South cheer and dance teams on their Class B State Titles. ESHS Cheer took home First Place in Tumbling and earned a Runner-up title in Sideline. Governor Ricketts Visits West Bay

Governor Pete Ricketts visited West Bay third, fourth and fifth graders on February 25 as a guest reader. Governor Ricketts read “The Dragons are Singing Tonight” by Jack Prelutsky. He stressed the importance of a good education and encouraged students to keep reading. Ricketts also told students Nebraska would celebrate its 150th anniversary next year or sesquicentennial.

Parent-Teacher Conferences

All parents are encouraged to attend parent-teacher conferences Wednesday, Feb. 10 and Thursday, Feb. 11. Elementary conferences will be scheduled through the building’s principal from 3 to 7 p.m. both days. Middle school conferences will be held from 4:30 to 8:30 p.m. both days, with high school conferences running from 5 to 9 p.m. All District schools will be dismissed one hour early on both days of parent-teacher conferences.
