Fourth and fifth graders from across the District geared up for the Battle of the Books on Monday, March 19. Participating students began reading books at the beginning of the school year in preparation. During the Battle of the Books students compete against other teams, answering questions to test their reading comprehension.

A school physical clinic will be held at Skyline Medical center on Saturday, May 5 from 7 to 10:30 a.m. The clinic will offer sports physicals for students entering grades 8-12 in the fall. Elkhorn South performed “Footloose” March 15, 16, 17 and 18. Footloose was the school’s second musical since it opened in 2010. Vocal Music Director, Adam Lambert, said being part of a musical gives students the kind of real-life stage experience that simply cannot be taught in the classroom.
